1 Review for 'Enevelde - Enevelde''Enevelde'
Not very original, but enjoyable to some extent.
Well, it's official! The number of new bands coming out of Norway is out of control! Every week (almost every day!) we hear about a new Norsk Black Metal band on a label and they pretty much all sound the same. All of them just try to re-live the glory days of the past! This one is more or less the same.
Some of the songs here work well (like the final track and maybe the second track), but it's still very overlong songs, based on very mediocre non-special riffs. The core must be the riff! You can't have anything if your riff is mediocre.
All this said, this release has some fantastic riffs, but the only problem (as I mentioned), is the problem of repetition. Repetition only works if the riffs are more than just good riffs! They should be perfect in a way that you can't get bored by it and you want even more! Also, repetition works if the atmosphere is raw and cold and hypnotizing, but it just doesn't have that extra little touch to it.
All in all, a solid effort, and there's nothing wrong with it, but it's not something i'll ever re-listen!
