Ponyclub Tartiflette

Ponycub Tartiflette is guitar and drum based duo from Amsterdam. They play provo art punk. Think Boredoms, Melt Banana, Ruins or Massacre

Can you introduce yourselves: who is Ponyclub Tartiflette?

A gathering of Shetland pony lovers and stinky cheese eaters, Anatole & Annelies.

How did you meet?

We met in a strip club where Anatole was dancing in a potato costume; he was young and needed the money. Annelies was there to steal money from the dancers. They met when he caught her by the toilet, counting the money she just stole from him.

What was the reason you wanted to start a band together?

They both realized that this wasn't the way to make money, and they were both hungry for fame, so they thought, let's open a ponyclub.

What do you have in common?

Nothing but the love of ponies, cheese, and money.

What does the name Ponyclub Tartiflette stand for?

It's a ponyclub. Tartiflette is a French meal with stinky cheese, potato chops, onion, and pony whispers.

Which bands do you consider your influences?

Our influences are completely random. Annelies is mostly influenced by Britney Spears, and Anatole loves Luigi Russolo, Merzbow, Melt Banana, and Marc Dorcel.

When I first heard your music, I was immediately hooked. Are you the kind of band where you think: you either love it right away or you hate it?

Yes, in fact, most people really hate our music, but they still go to our concerts because we look hot; we ourselves think we sound like shit too.

What are you listening to right now?

Otto Horvath, Nanorisk Akatsuki, Deadwood, Candy Scandale, Nevrose Fluo, Whokare, Ur, Wrong Chicken, Ragnacht, Gachis, Popewives, Painal Flatch, Cartoon Massacre.
