As I revisit it again, I find myself in love with it even more. It’s a unique experience—spinning this album, only to cherish it more than ever. As one would expect, this has me excited for follow-up.
The style approached by Goat Fetus harkens back to the days of olde, when face-painted specters frolicked in the church cemeteries amongst the flames. Not quite as raw as early Darkthrone and not quite as melodic as Emperor, Goat Fetus occupies the middle ground, offering all the tremolos one could ask for.

These songs are simply brilliant, the guitar melodies are nice and together they create a depressive and encompassing sound. God Is Dead is the penultimate track and has a little tiny bit more to the beautiful guitar melodies that I enjoyed quite a bit

There's something to be said about the role an album's artwork plays into the experience of the music within.
The result is one of the genre’s more unique albums in recent memory, one that, ten or fifteen years from now, might be seen as a jumping off point for a new take
Those who might not normally be drawn to black metal can find footholds in the more mainstream elements of the album, while fans of the genre will likely appreciate the band’s willingness to experiment with brighter sounds. It’s hard not to appreciate, after all, when a band creates an album this good.

This really paints a vivid picture in my mind while listening to it, far more so than anything else I have listened to within the genre of black metal.
