The new track, titled "Voces Ab Alta", was recorded during the "Daemon" sessions, and is presented with an animated video.
Norwegian Black Metal pioneers Mayhem are scheduled to release a new EP, titled "Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando", on the 9th of July through Century Media Records. While we wait, the label has made the track "Voces Ab Alta" available for listening (and watching) earlier today, with the accompanying video composed by Costin Chioreanu:
"Voces Ab Alta" is the first song to be made available from the upcoming EP, which will include material not only from the "Daemon" recording sessions, but also some covers of classic punk songs by the likes of Ramones and Discharge, hence the dual/split nature of the EP.
The complete tracklist for the EP will be as follows:
Side A:
- Voces Ab Alta
- Black Glass Communion
- Everlasting Dying Flame
Side B:
- In Defense of Our Future (Discharge cover)
- Hellnation (Dead Kennedys cover)
- Only Death (Rudimentary Peni cover)
- Commando (Ramones cover)
In addition to the usual CD and vinyl formats (of which there are quite a few different options), "Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando" will also be released as a box set, limited to 1,000 copies world-wide, including a slipmat and three art prints. There will also be a few different t-shirt designs and a backpatch, all available at their online store here.
