Texas Based Blackened Thrash Metal veterans United States Absu revealed the details for their final unreleased album from their unfinished trilogy based on magick and occultism. Because of the legal disputes over the rights to the band name, the band name and the album title is going to be "Proscriptor McGovern's Apsû" and is scheduled to be released on 26th of November through Agonia Records. Here's the first proper taster from the album:

Back in the late 2000s, Absu started working on a series of albums which were intended to be a trilogy, and after releasing the first two parts as 2009's "Absu" and 2011's "Abzu", the band went over a period of hiatus due to some legal issues, and the final part of the trilogy remained unreleased. After dissolving the band in early 2020, founder Proscriptor McGovern formed a new band under the name of "Proscriptor McGovern's Apsû", and now they have revealed some details for the release of the long-awaited third part of the trilogy.

The new album will feature the following tracklist:

  1. Amenta: Accelerando: Azyn including Hierophantasmal Expounder
  2. Esoterically Excoriating The Exoteric
  3. Quasaric Pestilence
  4. Mirroracles
  5. In-Betweeness Gateway Commuters
  6. Jupiter In Capricornus
  7. Dedicated To Thoth, But Azathoth Wasn’t Listening (A Necroloquy)
  8. Caliginous Whorl
  9. The Coagulating Respite
  10. Prana: Therion: Akasha
  11. Tantrums Of Azag-Kkû
  12. Every Watchtower Within Is The Axis Of A Watchtower Without including Totemic Thresholds

Proscriptor McGovern stated the following regarding the album in an interview:

Having the opportunity to assemble these band members, in the development of this album, was a remarkable honour and I strongly feel this album captures the band’s true, yet frenzied potential.

I specifically appointed these three to augment and heighten the overall sound portrait of these recordings, hoping that our emphasis on ‘mythological occult metal,’ coupled with progressive and psychedelic elements, clutches the listener’s momentum. Most importantly, I highly commend Agonia Records for migrating our musical and arcane foresight onto the next level.

This album was written for those who are curious and unwearied in their quest of arcane knowledge. I have (with vast exertion and detriment of time and space) collected knowledge deemed, in regard to my subject theories of ‘mythological occult metal:’ from Thelemic Magick and The Zos Vel Thanatos Formula to Fractal Ontology and (obviously) Near East Mythology.

Holy shit I had no idea about this, from the last thing I read from Proscriptor about putting Absu to rest, I was under the impression he wasn't even interested in the project anymore.

Me too man! it came as a reallllllly pleasent surprise! those two albums were just perfect. i don't think this part is going to suck either!
