The new song, titled "The Book of Breath", is the third track to be made available from the upcoming "Dread Reaver" album, due out on March 25th.
Norwegian Black Metal master Abbath is due to release a brand new album later this month, titled "Dread Reaver", specifically on the 25th of March, through Season of Mist. Today yet another preview track from the album has been made available for listening, check out the lyric video for "The Book of Breath":
Season of Mist paint the new album as something distinct yet with a traditional approach:
Riff-maestro Abbath Doom Occulta cements his place among the heavy metal hierarchy with ‘Dread Reaver,’ his third album with eponymous project ABBATH. His signature blend of blistering speed metal, traditional metal influences, and touch of ice-cold black metal create a sound and style that is distinctly his. It’s spirited, balls-to-the-walls energy certifies ‘Dread Reaver’ as the quintessential anthem for galloping forth into the pit.
In case you missed it, the title track for the new album was revealed at the beginning of February:
And a music video for "Dream Cull" was unveiled together with the album's announcement back in January:
"Dread Reaver" will mark Abbath's third full-length album, and features the following tracklist:
- Acid Haze
- Scarred Core
- Dream Cull
- Myrmidon
- The Deep Unbound
- Septentrion
- Trapped Under Ice (Metallica cover)
- The Book of Breath
- Dread Reaver
The cover art was designed by Norwegian artist Bjørn Stian Bjoarvik:
"Dread Reaver" is available for pre-order via the official Season of Mist store in a multitude of formats:
