Norwegian Black Metal Legends Darkthrone have just announced a new studio album, which will mark the band's 20th full-length studio record in a career spanning 36 years. The title of this album will be "Astral Fortress", and it will be released on 28th of October 2022 via Peaceville Records.

The album was released through longtime collaborators Peaceville Records, and to mark the occasion, the label has uploaded a lyric video for the album's opening track, "His Master's Voice". Darkthrone, one of the pioneering bands of Norwegian Black Metal, have finally released "The Underground Resistance", their latest full length album and without a doubt one of the most anticipated releases of the year. At least for me, anyway. I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said that I gave a single fuck about what anyone else thinks about the album, as more than half of the "opinions" floating around on the conveniently anonymous internet are nothing more than teenage bedroom warriors, driven by that classic teenage desire to be popular, jumping on the Let's-Hate-Darkthrone ...

One of the pioneering bands of Norwegian Black Metal, Darkthrone are scheduled to release what will be their 16th full length album on the 25th of February through Peaceville Records. The new album will be titled "The Underground Resistance", and will be the band's first release since their 2010 album, "Circle The Wagons".

Leading up to the album's release, Peaceville Records have made the last track on the album, "Leave No Cross Unturned", available for streaming online at their official Soundcloud profile:

The new album will be titled "The Underground Resistance", and is scheduled to be released on the 25th of February through Peaceville Records. This will be the band's first release since "Circle the Wagons" in 2010.
