1 Review for 'Sigh - Requiem for Fools''Requiem for Fools'

It impressed Euronymous so much that he signed the band!
The first thing that hits you when you listen to this are the deep, chaotic riffs! It almost sounds like late 80s Finnish War Metal / Death Metal bands, but it's definitely BLACK!
The gritty and dirty bass and guitar tones are mesmerizing! The other key element here are the incredibly atmospheric keyboard parts. Ihsahn gets the credit for being the best at using the keyboards in this manner, but give my Japanese folks a little more credit people. Holy shit, the keyboards sound evil in here (especially on the second track).
This album is also very doomy. The guitar tones remind me of Electric Wizard! The vocals and the drumming are not that special, but crucially, there is nothing wrong with them!
All in all, a very memorable listen. It's difficult to stop yourself from listening to this again and again!
